Utrecht is centrally located in the country and therefore very popular for day trippers. Utrecht is easily accessible by train. You are immediately in the center of the city when you get off at Utrecht Central Station. From Utrecht Central Station you can easily reach the center on foot. The city is also accessible by car, but you have to take parking costs into account. In Utrecht, paid parking applies in the center and surrounding neighborhoods. The rates in the center are 4.26 euros per hour. In parking garages the rates are between 2.40 and 3.60 euros per hour.

You can find clothes, shoes, everything. All major retail chains and department stores can be found in the center of Utrecht. The center is relatively compact and very attractive. You can enjoy shopping in the area around the canals and the Dom Tower. If you are looking for more special shops such as boutiques or culture, you can go to the Ganzenmarkt, the Minrebroederstraat, the Korte Jansstraat, the Voorstraat, the Twijnstraat, the Domstraat, the Lijnmarkt, the Oudegracht, the Goorstraat and the Schoutenstraat.

  • Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday: 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM

  • Saturday: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
  • shopping Sundays: 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m

A day of shopping often costs a lot of money. To save money on your clothes and shoes, you can shop during sales, also known as sales. During the sale, clothing and shoes are sold at significant discounts. This discount quickly amounts to several tens of percent.
