Dating the wrong person: wrong men, wrong women

This article is part of a series of articles (a special) about ‘Dating the Wrong One.’ In other words: wrong men and wrong women. Whether you start a relationship with a married man, with a problem drinker, with a drug user or with a man or woman who does not accept the children from your previous marriage. These are all people with whom building a new relationship is usually doomed to failure. Dating is a popular activity. But when is a man or woman right or wrong? Actually, you should never tar people with the same brush. Of course there are things you can pay attention to. People who are already in a relationship, or who use drugs or too much alcohol, who have financial debts or serious psychological problems… are usually far from ideal as dates. Yet you can fall in love with someone with such problems. The chance of success of such a relationship then becomes very small. We call certain people ‘wrong men’ or ‘wrong women.’ It sounds a bit stigmatizing, but it is more of an indication. Below are some examples:

Relationship with a married man or woman

The my wife doesn’t understand me husband is a married man, or he lives together. The ‘my husband doesn’t understand my feelings,’ woman, is also married. You can sometimes come to his or her home when his wife or her husband is at the macramé course or the tennis. It’s even easier if he or she can come to you when it suits him or her, for hasty, exciting sex. Married/attached people can be nice and sweet dates, but if you are looking for a permanent relationship, it is not advisable to start something with someone who already lives with someone else for several reasons. Moreover, adultery remains cheating. In most cases, people who are already in a relationship are just looking for some adventure. If you fall in love with a married man or woman, you will soon discover that you come second (or third) in mind. At first, all that sneaky stuff is quite exciting, but in the long run, when he or she stays home every weekend to be with his own wife or husband, and when he or she goes on holiday with his own family every summer (and doesn’t want to be called) while you have to spend your holiday on your own, a love triangle is going to break you. So find a man or woman who is free. Married people usually only have time to lie in bed with you.

Looking for a date, where?

Research has shown that many people find new relationships or dates through their work, or through other activities they undertake outside the home. The nightlife can be a place where you find a relationship, or when you are on vacation. But online dating agencies or registering with a dating site are also popular. It is a digital form of placing personal ads. Countless people sign up for online dating sites in hopes of finding true love. Sometimes that works. However, a large proportion of them also register solely to find excitement, adventure and sex. So stay wary of relationships you don’t want and be critical before you make a date or before you tell too much about yourself. There are also meeting sites, such as Tinder, that are very popular. You may not find many serious relationships there, but for many this is an attractive way to meet new people. But you can also encounter problem cases via Tinder. What should you pay attention to if you are looking for a serious date? Listen to your bad feeling. If you suspect that new person has a problem, then they usually do. A few examples:

The problem drinker or addict

I drink so much because I’m so lonely.
The problem drinker or drinker is a man or woman that it is better to stay away from. People who use other drugs are also a pain to build a relationship with. Their entire lives revolve around what is in bottles, jars or syringes. Gambling addicts love the casino more than their girlfriend and a man or woman who uses drugs or alcohol already has a relationship, namely with their beloved narcotics. Some people have other addictions, such as sex addiction or food addiction. Every addiction usually affects daily life in such a way that there is no longer room for ordinary things.

The cuckoo chick

I have a relationship with you, not with your children.
The man (or woman) who does not accept your children won your heart by being nice and kind to your children. But once you lived together, he or she no longer concealed their annoyance for the children. He or she does not ask, but demands that they obey him. Sometimes it seems like you have a child. Somehow, this type of stepparent is usually not reasonable. You increasingly get the feeling that your new partner is actually just jealous because you love your children. When he or she is angry, he or she blurts out that your children have been raised poorly, that they irritate him or her immensely, that they do not respect him or her and that he or she cannot wait until they move into a room. because your children are getting in the way of your relationship… It is clear: your new partner would prefer to force your children out of the house because he or she holds the children from your previous relationship responsible for many problems within your relationship. Your children no longer feel safe in their parental home since the new ‘stepfather’ or ‘stepmother’ arrived. Why would you continue with such a character? Put your children first and don’t let a cuckoo chick type man or woman work them out of the nest. A partner who chooses you will also have to choose your children.

Are there more wrong men or women?

Unfortunately, yes, but fortunately there are also a lot of good, reliable people with whom a relationship has a chance of success. If you start a relationship with someone who is married, drinks a lot or uses drugs, you already know that there is a good chance that the relationship will become problematic. So just don’t start.
