Paid parking is available everywhere within the A10 ring road. Outside the A10 ring road you can park for free in various places, after which you can take the tram to the center.

Shopping tips for clothes and shoes

You can find clothes, shoes, everything. Amsterdam is of course home to all well-known retail chains, such as Zara, Bijenkorf and H&M. The most famous shopping street is Kalverstraat. The Nieuwedijk is also a well-known shopping street. Those who prefer to browse boutiques should visit the Nine Streets. The Negen Straatjes are located between the Prinsengracht and the Keizersgracht. Other good tips are the Utrechtsestraat, the Elandsgracht, the Haarlemmerdijk and Haarlemmerstraat. A fun experience are markets such as the Dappermarkt, the Waterloopleinmarkt and the Albert Cuyp.

Opening hours of shops in Amsterdam

The regular opening hours of the clothing, shoe and fashion stores in Amsterdam are on Mondays from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Tuesdays to Saturdays from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The winter sale takes place approximately during the months of December and January. The summer sale approximately during the months of July and August. Read more about the sale here.

Done shopping? Other sights and events

Once you have bought enough clothes, shoes or other fashion accessories, there is much more to experience. Perhaps it would be a nice idea to combine a day of shopping with one of the many events that take place annually in Amsterdam. Examples of large and well-known events are Queen’s Day, the Uitmarkt, SAIL, Gay Pride, the Amsterdam marathon, and so on. Even outside the many events, there are a lot of fun things to do in Amsterdam. How about a walk along the canals, the many museums, Artis, and so on.
