The electoral board for toddler groups

Preschoolers mainly learn to develop through play. Preschool education takes place in the corners. Children learn to develop in corners such as the doll corner, construction corner, listening corner and there are a few more corners. The children can choose what they are going to do. This is done via the electoral board.

The electoral board

The electoral board consists of several cards with the corners on them. The names of the children are also listed next to a selection board. There are different types of electoral boards. There are electoral boards that are made of magnetic material and there are wooden electoral boards.

The purpose of an electoral board

The electoral boards are used in nursery groups. The purpose of this is for the children to see what they choose. This is due to the icon that represents the corners. A child also knows when a corner is full. This allows a child to know when to choose something else. In this way, children learn to choose independently. They have to make choices.

Magnetic election boards

The magnetic voting boards are more efficient and easier to use. You write the name of the students on the cards for the students and you have a card for each corner that the children can choose. Magnetic cards are easier to use. You don’t have to make new cards every year, you just have to write new names on them. Magnetic materials are also more hygienic. You can easily wipe a cloth over an election board and the cards and the election board is clean again. Preschoolers touch everything with their fingers and this makes them quickly transfer bacteria.

Wooden electoral boards

Wooden electoral boards consist of a plate with all kinds of nails. As a teacher, you make the cards yourself. These cards have an image or icon for the corners. You also make the cards for the students. Write the child’s name on this in the color group where the child sits. For example: Britt is in the red group, she will receive a red card with her name on it and perhaps the sticker/picture that is also on her seat. A wooden board is not as user-friendly. You have to make and laminate new cards every year. These cards must have holes in them so that they can hang on the electoral board. Because you use these cards every day, it often happens that the holes tear out, causing the card to no longer hang.
