Dutch people are on average 16.7 years old when they lose their virginity. However, there are people who are much older and have not yet lost their virginity. There are also people who have never kissed and have not performed any sexual act. This can have several reasons. For example, some wait for their wedding night to lose their virginity. In this article we will not focus on these people. We will only talk about people who are unintentionally virgins.
Cause
Why are there people who are still virgins later in life, even though they would love to have sex? The cause usually lies in puberty. Some teenagers waited for the right person to have sex with, but never met that person. Other teenagers were simply too shy to have sex. As people age, it becomes more difficult for people to openly admit that they are virgins. They are ashamed of this and often do not dare to enter into a relationship. This only makes finding a sexual partner more difficult.
Tips
Is it bad to be a virgin later in life? Absolutely not! Still, being a virgin unintentionally can be quite frustrating. While your friends often talk about their sex lives, you are the only one who just listens. Yet it is important to realize that you have your life in your own hands; so does your sex life.
Men who are unintentionally virgins often choose to go to a prostitute. Women who are unintentionally virgins often choose to lose their virginity during a one-night stand. This helps them regain their self-confidence. If they have had sex with a prostitute or one-night stand, they are less concerned about their next sex session.
Although paid sex or a one-night stand can serve as a solution, it is best to honestly tell your partner that you are a virgin. He or she can then take it into account. In addition, many people will see it as an honor to be your first bed partner.
Never had a relationship
Dutch people have about 6 relationships throughout their lives. However, there are also people who enjoy the single life forever. What if you’ve been unintentionally single all your life?
Cause
There are people who have sexual experience, but have never had a (serious) relationship. The causes probably lie in puberty and adolescence. If you previously had a fear of commitment or if you set too high standards, it will only become more difficult for you to find a partner later.
Tips
First of all, it is important to meet someone you could fall in love with. Where do you meet such a person? You never know. Some people meet their loved one at work, others while going out. Are you having trouble meeting someone? Then you could register with a dating site. Unfortunately, many Dutch people have the idea that it is sad to register with such a site.
Have you met a nice man or woman? Then you have to realize that you cannot just start a love relationship. That is why it is important not to focus on a relationship right away. First, make sure you have fun with this man or woman.
